LIFEGUARD/INSTRUCTOR II


(Casual Aquatic Leader)

The West Vancouver Community Services Department has an opening for a casual Lifeguard/Instructor II (Casual Aquatic Leader). 

This position is responsible for performing basic maintenance functions in and around the pool, and aquatic supervision in the absence of a full time Aquatic Leader. Additional responsibilities include performing lifesaving functions: general supervision of scheduled guards and lesson instruction including specialized areas.

To be successful, candidates must be secondary school graduates, have successfully completed courses in lifesaving and swimming instruction. The preferred candidate has at least 1 year of lifeguarding and swim instructing experience as well as related supervisory, pool operations and maintenance experience.

Required Licenses and Certificates include:

  • National Lifeguard Service – Pool,
  • Swim for Life Instructor,
  • CPR Level C, AED, OFA Level 1, Aquatic Emergency Care or Standard First Aid.


The successful candidate will be required to supply a police information check and a copy of their credentials.

$28.08 per hour plus 14% in lieu of benefits
